Vinyl bow ties?

Got a set of carbon fiber vinyl precut bow-ties off ebay. $10 for 2 but they sent me 4 of them. They're not exactly perfect. I had to trim a little bit off couple edges. They're good, not great. Gonna keep on and see how they hold up but I may still paint them matte black. We'll see...

I buy rolls of vinyl from Canadian Tire ( sort of like a Pep Boys) that looks just like that. About $15.00 per roll of 6 feet. It lasts about 2 years if you are careful not to blast it with a pressure washer and use a heat gun to warm it up after putting it on. If it gets damaged just peel it off and reapply. Took a few tries the first time to cut it wide enough to cover all the gold but I have figured it out now. A lot cheaper than the factory black ones.

Well these did not hold up well after just a couple days. Probably cheap vinyl. I'm gonna hit them with a little self etching primer and then matte black paint. My Ram badges were painted and lasted years with no signs of wear even after several trips thru the quick wash.

I plastidip'd my grill bowtie. Has lasted over a year and I just wash like normal over it.

That looks good man, I've been on the search for the image to make one myself. I need one to scale so I can use my gf's cricut vinyl cutter lol. If not the good ol razor blade I guess.

Thanks, we tried making a templet for the wife's Cricut, but could not get it exact after a number of tries!  I just cut a rectangular piece of vinly a little larger than the outside bowtie dimensions and worked it into the corners from the top down and trimmed the excess off with a scaple.

Well good to know haha I was about to go through the same trouble on making a template.

I think i am going to try a silver vinyl like my photoshop below for a bit, might just go back to black though like yours.

I got black reflective vinyl from eBay and did the Bow ties on my Camaro when I had it, my Cruze  and my daughters Cruze.  It looks good and when the headlights hit it then it reflects back and I like the way it looks.

On my Silver 2016, I installed the stainless bowtie and it looked good.
