Bluetooth phone music issues

2018 GMC Z71.

 

When I connect my iphone via Bluetooth and am playing music (whether it be iTunes music or pandora or whatever) through the truck sound system, if I hit pause on the music on my phone, the truck sound system seems to repeatedly override it and start playing it again. 

This also happens in my wife’s Yukon, in addition to automatically starting to play music when I connect it. Anyone else have this issue?

yeah there are two issues.

1- Iphone

2- not using direct connection

Same thing happens to me in my '18 Sierra. It was the same in my '15 too. If I'm listening via Bluetooth when I turn the truck off no matter what I do with my phone, when I turn the truck on again, it automatically plays music via Bluetooth with my phone.

How is the iPhone causing the problem? The phone has never exhibited the behavior in any other setup.

Also, I do use a direct connection in my wife’s 2014 and it does the same thing.

I was just being a jerk about the iPhone. I believe the radio software is the issue. I would try pausing it at radio and then change source see if it stops trying to over ride. My girls car does the same think it is a gm thing.

LOL I should’ve picked up on the iPhone hate.

I think your suggestion makes sense and will work. Gonna try it out later.
