Gutted ext cab with drivetrain

Hello,. New here and have a big project...my daughter's 2004 ext cab developed issues so I figured I would find a doner truck...her's is a 2004 5.3 WT bare bones, no electrical windows or doors locks etc....the doner is a 2003 4.8 Z71...I'm guessing because it had everything in it...at one time...I got it with just the drivetrain and cab....with I'm hoping all the wiring....NO RADIO or CLUSTER.  I'd like to see if the engine and tranny is useable but the damn thing won't start... probably because of the anti theft..Is there ANYTHING that I can do to see if this thing will start and run with parts from my original 04 truck?

Why do you say,antitheft?and do you hear fuel pump run?

It is my understanding that if radio isn't in the truck...it won't start..something to do with the BCM and anti theft...but if I'm wrong...I hope someone will chime in

 

And no, no fuel pump kicking on.

?, haven't heard that one before,gotta look that up, everything else still on the truck?all fuses good underhood?

With key in run position,I would check fuses,I can't find anything that says passlock,and missing radio are connected?

Security light on the dash? GM anti theft has caused me trouble in the past. I have heard of the issue with removing radios and the vehicle going into an anit-theft immobilization mode.  Not sure how to fix it though

I'm searching for that, from what I see,a missing radio,no problem,a incorrectly wired radio, possible problem,and he has no cluster,so, don't know

K...I'll start with key in run position and go through the fuses.... this way....I can yank the dash out of the 04...and hope it's compatible..that way I could check for lights

Is there a apparent reason for this truck to become a parts truck? just trying to reason it out,fuse check, good start,got to narrow down the no start,if it was antitheft, fuel gets shut down,but still has spark,so a little starter fluid in t.b.,see if it starts

It does chug with starting fluid..no fluid no chug.

 

Ok..I'm a bit embarrassed to say this...but the 04 truck that is my daughter's...was in accident...I ran over myself because i was stupid and accidentally knocked it out of park in the yard while trying to see why the shift cable was not working properly...the truck drifted back crushing me with the front cross member...I managed to flatten out thus letting the truck to harmlessly pass the rest of the way over me.  3 broken ribs and a broken collarbone.  Truck pissed me off and wanted rid of it...then started to think of all the work I put into it...all new stainless lines drilled n slotted rotors new tires..this was for her going off to college 5 hours away....needed something that would last..pfffft.....looking at the floor..it is going...the frame is crusty..thank you PA DOT and the crap they use on the roads.

 

So...I find a sweet cab and frame with all the running gear albeit an 03 with a 4.8..initially i was just going to swap the cab onto my daughters frame...but this one is sooo much better so I figure take from my daughter's truck and make a "new" one...

 

That about covers it...

Sorry to hear that,glad you made it,we all make mistakes,so,chug, antitheft enabled, Google reset procedure,try that,or swap fuel pump relay with another same type

Well, put the cluster in from the 04 and no security light on...still have spark no fuel...going to pull the sending unit tomorrow and bench test the pump.

You could get a diagram online, check relay pins,or probe wire close to tank for power,tan I think,got to have helper,cause prime is 2 seconds with key on,I'm not that fast
