Tow Haul

I had to have the rear seal replaced on my 03 Sierra 1500 Z71. After getting it back the tow haul didn't work anymore. The light won't even come on. It worked just fine before that. Any suggestions on what might fix it or could it be a coincidence? I can not reach the mechanic that changed the seal for me.

Definitely sounds like something didn't get plugged back in.

I agree with riverbanks... coincidence. Mine stopped working in my '03 Sierra and I finally figured out that it would work in just the right shift lever position. Try this... hold the button in while you shift out of park and through all the lever positions and back to park. When I would do this the broken wire would make contact in just the right position and supply the signal to activate tow/haul mode thus turning on the dash light. In my instance the wire was not severed completely in two just the copper conductor, the insulation was still intact. You may experience the same results or not.

Anyway, you probably need this...

The lever is GM part number 26075107 or Dorman number 905-106. The Dorman comes with a new rubber shift lever boot. The GM boot is part number 26093753.
