Intake swap

Will the stock intake and airbox off of A 2016 sierra 1500 with a 5.3 fit on 2012 sierra 1500 with.a 5.3 and will it boost performance if so?

Larger intake diameter and filter will reduce workload on engines. However, it's a diminishing curve. You'll probably only get a fraction of a hp improvement.

A larger intake box and air filter will aid in increased airflow. However the issue is in the throttle body and intake tube. The intake and throttle body CFM rating will not let in any more air.

It's like when your using a funnel to fill your oil. If you poor to fast the oil fills up the funnel and you have to wait for the oil to drain out, same with air. You have a ton of air, but it will only go in so fast though the restrictions on the throttle body and intake tube.
