Lift/Tires Fitment Question

Recommended Posts

This is my first time doing anything with the suspension on any vehicle so I have some questions.  I wanted to use this lift kit https://www.roughcountry.com/gm-suspension-lift-kit-121c.html, It says i can run up to a 285/65/18. The tires I want (https://www.desertrat.com/i-23324917-lt275-70r18-dick-cepek-fun-country.html#!) are a 275/70/18. Will they be ok? If they dont, what size lift will i need? I was also looking at the Tuff Country (https://www.suspensionconnection.com/14059-chevy-1500.html) or another Rough Country (https://www.americantrucks.com/rough-country-325-suspension-body-lift-kit-1417-2wd-4wd-w-stock-cast-steel-or-aluminum-control-arms.html) or is there something better, Im not trying to do this as cheap as possible but I also don't want to spend a fortune. Im only looking to run 33s.

Thanks in advance

Check out CST Performance Suspension, keeping stock track width and stock turning radius. ITS A 4.5” plus lift Allowing you to keep stock wheels and tires up to 35’s. Research it a bit and you’ll be able to find it around 1500-1600 plus install.

275/70/18 is .6” taller than the recommend 285/65/18, but it is .4” narrower.  I would *guess* lift/level kit manufacturers would publish the tallest tire that would fit with their product, as long as it has a reasonable width.  Check out the two links below. The Custom Offset site has a searchable database with user uploaded lift/tire size configurations and if there is any rubbing, and maybe you can find what size level/lift you need to run the tires/wheel you want.  The tire size one is all about comparing sizes. It even has an offset comparison tool with visuals.
