OnStar Volume way too loud

Did a search but did not find answer.

This morning I received an alert of some sorts from OnStar.  A series of beeps then voice saying something.

Problem is, it was like someone screaming at the top of their lungs.

I tried turning it down using the radio volume button as it was going on but there was no effect.

I do not see any setting to turn it down.  It was so  loud the people in the car next to me were laughing.

The volume dial turned down and up the volume  from Onstar when I was talking to them. Call them up and play with the volume, maybe it was the case of the type of

Alert where they max out their audio

Good idea, I will call them and see the volume.

While talking to Onstar. the volume of the response is the loudest with the volume knob in the middle position and it appears not to get any louder as the knob is turned.
