1977 chevy c10

I have a 1977 chevy c-10, it runs great but when in gear the idle rpms jump up a little then go back to normal, anyone know what could be causing this?

if it has air conditioning it is normal

Ah, the memories. Or a carburetor, points, cold day, hot day, humidity or not. Turning the wheel while siting still. The goal was just enough idle speed to keep from stalling. Lots of 2 feet driving those days.

To clarify.

Auto trans, sitting in park with it idling.

Shift into drive and rpms jump a little warm or cold motor?

It has a/c but it does it when it's not on

It did it in both, but after a little while the problem seems to have subsided
