ESS can’t we just disconnect the memory battery cable?

Can’t we disconnect the memory battery cable to eliminate the ESS?

 On a side note, if we use the AutoStart Stop Eliminator or use some other form and don’t use this the battery that Chevy uses the alternator won’t charge that battery. Is this battery only used for the ESS or does it power other things?

Is someone in the “know” here please?
