Reverse wire for backup camera.

I ordered an aftermarket backup camera  but I am having trouble finding out where the reverse wire is so I can tap into it for the camera to power on when put into reverse. I feel like there should be a wire that I can tap into going into the reverse lights, but I also understand that the reverse wire is under the driver's side dash? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Need more details as to whats this going on? Trim level and year? Do you have a locking rear tailgate off the remote?

it is going on a 2015 2500hd wt gas reg cab with a service body and the camera head is hooked up to a 4 pin connector and the mirror head has the pwr and trigger wire hooked up to it so i was trying to not have to run a wire all the way to the back

Got it. If you have the remote locking tail gate you should have the wire already run for the camera into the back side of the HMI unit.

He has a 2015 wt with service body so no locking tailgate.
