I have been buying these tickets for as long as I can remember.... never won anything. Usually these tickets were $20-$40 a pop, so when my buddy said he had some for $50 a pop, I almost said no. Well, I'm glad I did buy it...I just got a call yesterday saying I won a Glock 23 (.40 handgun)!!!! :( I've been wanting to buy a nice semi handgun for awhile, but with my wedding and house plans, the extra $$$ was not available. This gun should round my collection out...

Anyone know much about this gun? How's it shoot? I'm expecting a decent kick from it being its very light, small and .40.

Not a bad pistol! They sell around here for $400-$500. :(

Yep, that seems to be the going price. I had a cash option though, I could have taken $300....LMAO. My answer was pretty quick....

The Glock 23 is an outstanding handgun. They're utterly reliable and very easy to take down and clean. High-capacity magazines can still be found for them (13 rounds I believe), but are $60-120 depending upon condition.

Take it to the range and put a few hundred rounds through it. My experience with them is you either love them or hate them. The kick isn't bad at all. The DAO trigger can take some getting used to if you're not experienced with them, but once you get it down you'll never go back to a DA trigger (IMO).

I agree that this is an excellent handgun. I own the Glock 27, which is also a .40 but it is the sub-compact model. My old roommate had the 23 series, so I have shot both and liked both of them. Advantage to the 23 is a bigger grip to hold onto, advantage to the 27 is it is easier to conceal.

That is awesome you won that gun...I paid $425 for mine, which was the cheapest I have seen yet. Once you add tax, a holster, an extra magazine it starts adding up, but is well worth it.

I love my Glocks. The more you shoot it, the more you will like it!! Nice fairly low recoil pistols. I can shoot tighter goups with my Glocks than I can with any other of my pistols. I found that if I dont hold it nice and firm, it will stove-pipe or misfeed. Took a while to get used to, but dam do I like them. High cap mags can be had at a gun show pretty cheap believe it or not. I picked up 2 genuine Glock high caps for my G17 for $32 bucks. Great condition. Theres a sports store I goto every now and then that sells the 9mm Glocks for $500. Larger caliber Glocks run $550 and up. I never have priced a 10mm Glock yet so I dont really know what they cost. The .40 ammo is cheap. I can usually pick it up for $11.99 a box for Winchester white-box. 9mm Winchester white-box ammo is $11.00 a box for 100 rounds. Its fun to shoot!!
