I have a Uniden R3 radar detector that is powered by my cigarette lighter power socket.  Everytime I turn off the truck the socket continues to provide power for a couple minutes, which is no big deal.

My problem is that when I start the truck again there is no power being supplied to the socket.  I have to unplug and then re-plug the radar detector every time to get power back.  Is there a simple fix?

Eventually I'll hardwire the radar detector, but it's annoying to mess with it each time i start the truck...if I even remember to do it.

I stopped using my passport 8500x50 radar detector since other vehicles bumper sensors were tripping it while driving. Now I just use Waze.
