Hoopster3 Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 I have a Uniden R3 radar detector that is powered by my cigarette lighter power socket. Everytime I turn off the truck the socket continues to provide power for a couple minutes, which is no big deal. My problem is that when I start the truck again there is no power being supplied to the socket. I have to unplug and then re-plug the radar detector every time to get power back. Is there a simple fix? Eventually I'll hardwire the radar detector, but it's annoying to mess with it each time i start the truck...if I even remember to do it.
UGADawgs Posted June 22, 2019 Posted June 22, 2019 I stopped using my passport 8500x50 radar detector since other vehicles bumper sensors were tripping it while driving. Now I just use Waze.
Hoopster3 Posted June 22, 2019 Author Posted June 22, 2019 I use both and haven't had the rear sensor issues with the R3.
