Transmission flush is $179.00 plus a $25 off coupon.

Or do it yourself which is way cheaper ...

I am one of those freaks.   I change all drivetrain fluids by the first 10,000 miles to get the break in wear metals out of there.  Then I do the 50K interaval thing.  On my wife's Equinox, every  35K for everything. For some reason, it is especially brutal on gear lube in transfer and rear diff and transmission fluid.  Changing drivetrain fluids is commonly overlooked by many folks, yet is just as critical as any other maintenance.    I don't normally trade frequently.   Still have a 2006 Cadillac CTS that we are not getting rid of anytime soon.  I love keeping vehicles a long time.  Tags drop to $50 a year after 10 years as one plus.  But even if that weren't the case, I still am going to do drive train fluid changes and not pass on a potential problem to the next owner.

My 2500hd has a rear diff drain plug, as does my front diff, and transfer case. This is the 3/4 ton forum anywho.

I like that all my vehicles have diff drain plugs.  My 2500 of course, but also the wife's 2017 Equinox AWD and our 2006 Cadillac CTS.

Yeah, between deleting the rear dif drain plug, the radiator drain petcock, the magnet on the end of the oilpan drain plug bolt, and not installing a transmission pan drain plug and more grease zerks on the suspension and driveshaft, they probably saved all of $20.  Meanwhile, the cost of the trucks has gone up $15K+ in the last ten years.

Thanks you guys for the support i just tend to get scared doing this like transmission oil and differential oil. That i might **** up.

I don't mess with the trans fluid and filter change, mainly due to a matter of time on my hands.  I have a lot of irons in the fire so I tend to only do stuff that can be done pretty quickly.  And doing a total fluid exchange and filter change is not a quick job. I find it easier to have a local independent shop in town do it for me.   i provide the fluid I want used and the filter and they do the job for me.  In and out a lot quicker than I could ever do the job.  I do all the other stuff  like diffs, xfer, oil changes, etc and cleaning throttle bodies on my vehicles and doing an intake manifold and valve cleaning with CRC.    

 

I have to do work on my commercial stuff, I am not really into spending a lot of time on my personal stuff after working 80+ hours in a week on my business.  Heck, tomorrow I get to spend my Saturday changing out 8 shocks on my semi truck along with a grease job. last week I took the entire week off.  I spent it re-doing the base on the 40 foot deck on the house.  filling in a old burn pit.  re-rocking 900 ft of driveway.  busting up and hauling off about 20 yards of old concrete chunks.  Clearing some old metal and components from behind the pole barn.  Managed to get a friend who works at a metal recycling place to bring out a roll off container for that and I filled it up.  And a lot of other here and there repair projects.  An entire week off and I never even really got a chance to ride my Triumph motorcycle once.  Now that is sad.   The last thing I wanted to do was work on my personal GM vehicles.   But I envy those who have a lot of time on their hands for that .
