2018 Chevrolet 2500 wipers

Recommended Posts

Embarrassed to bring this one up.  I have a 2018 2500 HD and noticed as I was washing it that the plastic trim at bottom of windshield had pulled away (like the heat shrunk it).  As i investigated it further I made the mistake of opening the hood and the driver side wiper had already been raised to wash windshield.  Hood hit wiper arm and arm cracked windshield......I was mad and felt like a dumbass.  I noticed after this happened that hood only has top be 1/4 way open and its already hitting wiper arms when up.  Aft I saw this i thought maybe it was due to a stick that had hit windshield in same location where it is damaged and maybe pushed down plastic cowl a day before but I'm afraid my actions caused the damage but still not sure as it looks like hood would really have be pushed to have arm flex enough to hit glass and crack.  I have had many cars and this is the first time opening the hood while wipers were up has ever come up.  anyone have similar experiences??  Any info would be appreciated.

If windshield replacement is higher than your deductible, it was the stick. If your deductible is higher than the windshield, it was the wiper.[emoji16]
