So I am having the same issue and its driving me nuts trying to figure out whats wrong with it.

2017 Sierra 4X4 elevation

75K miles

Added demon eyes and tail light bar

Does the one click no start at least once a week. Started it this morning, went out later and one click no start. Lights seems bright and battery tested voltage was 12.2V. Took to O'reilly's and they said the battery (1.5 years old) was good, alternator is good and starter is good. But they are testing the starter when its working, not just doing the one click nothing.

I think its strange that it does this, but as soon as I jump it with a running car it fires right up. Tested jumping with a non-running car and it does the one click nothing. The car has to be started.

I was told its a loose or corroded connection because as soon as I connect a running car it fires right up.

When it did it this morning I tries just connecting negative from wife's car to negative on truck, nothing change, trying to confirm whether or not I had a bad ground.

Why does the truck not start on its own, but as soon as I connect a running car producing 14 volts it fores right up?

I have a battery tender connected to it and will do so for the next week as a test, or when it starts the one click nothing. If the truck does the one click nothing, this tells me it is not the battery.

2018 Silverado 5.3.  Trying to start it, 1 click, and nothing. Boosted it once and worked. two weeks later, same problem, moved shifter from park to drive and back to park and it worked. Suspect starter or starter relay. Will keep you posted.
