Chevy 2012 2500 hd cruise not working

My Chevy 2012 2500 hd cruise isn’t working. I hit button on steering wheel and no light comes on steering wheel or dash. I’ve only had truck about 2 months and didn’t notice cruise not working until now. I checked the fuse with manual diagram and it’s fine, so not the problem. I think steering switch just isn’t getting power. No light comes on dash showing cruise is on. Any recommendations on how to systematically troubleshoot this? Thanks

Pull up on the brake pedal with your foot and then try the cruise.  It could be a brake pedal position switch, but maybe not since no indicator lights are on in the dash/wheel.
