Electrical problems 2001 silverado 1500

I have a Chevy 2001 1500 HD with a 6 liter motor I was changing out the starter and didn't disconnect the battery put the starter in turn on the truck and air conditioning not working cruise control is not working fuel gauge isn't working odometer is not working just wondering if it's one problem or if I ruined a bunch of stuff

What do you mean by "not working".  As in, nothing in the cab gets power when you turn the key to the run position?  Or some stuff is working right, and only the items you listed aren't working at all?

 

Anyway, you might try resetting the computers by removing both connectors from the battery, touching the two connectors together, then reattaching them to the battery, and then see if it's all working again.

Check your fuses as well.
