Is there anyway someone can send me a duplicate of the aluminum piece they are placing inside I would GREATLY appreciate it! I act manufacture ABS Plastic Tailgate lettering for the 2019+ Silverado’s and would like to start making these colored “inserts” for the grills, so with your help I would laser cut a panel that fits into the same space over the mesh. Thanks!

I love the Chevrolet grill and this looks awesome. I wonder why the higher end trim levels like my LT Trail Boss didn't offer it? I just have a black bowtie.

I used the same paint as rowdydog, Rust-Oleum Cherry Gloss. I did not prime the aluminum flashing but I did de-grease and sand it so the paint would adhere properly. I cut the aluminum flashing down to 47" x 2 7/8" using tin snips. Seemed to be the perfect size.

Thank you for the dimensions, I wanted to get everything in place prior to removing the grill.

Instead of painting and placing a thin piece of tin behind the letters has anybody just painted the mesh/slotted piece behind the letters?

I finally installed mine after being scared to remove the grill. Surprisingly it probably only took around 30 minutes to complete and I love the new look! Thanks to you guys for posting this!

@LimitlessParts have you been able to come up with any other solutions for this yet?

Been following this thread for some time. American Trucks just added grille inserts from Putco. They make them in Black and Chrome. Just ordered mine to see what I am dealing with. Enjoy

Grill inserts finally came in! Letters came in multiple pieces (16 total). Everything fit well. These are thin metal inserts. Finish face came with a protective white layer that you need to peel off. Backside had the 3 mm adhesive tape. Clean off where the inserts are being placed, then use a heat gun to warm up the glue and remove the plastic film. With the proper amount of heat, the red tape will begin to peel up on its own. Once that layer is peeled, apply and hold pressure.

This is freshly installed and I have yet to put miles on it. We have had consistent 90° weather here in New Hampshire, so I’m interested to see how they hold up. I went black on black, so it’s subtle with the picture. To me, worth the $50. Enjoy

Such a great idea. Did my truck this weekend. I used the same paint mentioned above and aluminum flashing. Whole project cost $13 from Home Depot. I let the paint dry for 24 hours and then installed the flashing the next morning. It took about 30 min to install. Super easy.
