Rear U-joint

When should I replace the rear u-joint in my 1994 GMC Sonoma 4.3L?  It has 164k on it.

Normally when they exhibit being bad. But, if these are factory, non greaseable, I'd replace both of them. But that's just me.

Thanks for the advise.  Think I'll check them closely this weekend and decide.  My next door neighbor has a 2001 Sonoma 4cyl with over 150k and his rear u-joint wore out and let the drive shaft fall to the ground , while starting up from a stoplight.   I plan to keep it a while longer, as the dipstick doesn't get much below full  after 3000 miles.
