I have a 1990 chev. 1500 shortbox, reg. cab, 350 and am looking to get exhaust for it. I am looking to get duals coming behind the back tires. What type would sound the deepest, but isnt the most expensive?

i got a 94 ext cab short box with a 350.. it rips good with my pipes but i don't have any mufflers.. i got a nice throaty tone but i have to be careful in city limits where the cops wanna throw the book at ya. i have a 3" pipe off the cady, goes to 2.25"y behind the cab, and those two go over my axle out to 3.5"x 15" polished stainless steel tips. I'm extremely happy with the way my truck sounds and i got about 2 more MPG's out of it... i run at least 18-20 on the highway~

On all the 96-00s I have had I have ran flowmaster 40 series. I have always been able to get the performance and sound that I like from Flowmaster so I have stuck with them. You tone is going to depend on you pipe alot, bigger pipe means deeper tone. Tips also affect the sound as well as your exit points.

I had a '97 Silverado with the 350. I had true-duals from the manifold that ran into 2 40 Series Flowmasters with the dual 20" tips. IMO, that was the best sounding truck I have ever heard. People in my hometown loved when the heard me coming!! And they heard me from a way away!! After I sold it for my new truck, it was a sad day. I've seen my old truck in town from time to time and have pulled up next to the guy just to ask him to rev it up for me, for old times sake! If you know of anyone that has dual 40 series, ask them to get on it and you will understand what i'm talkin about.

I put the flowmaster 50 series on mine. I didn't want it real loud but she sounds great with a low tone. The 40 and 70 series are too loud for an old man like me.

I got an extra 1.5 mpg with the k&n and flowmaster.

Corsa sounds great on the 4.8/5.3 trucks. You can hear sounds files on their website. Don't bother with headers on these trucks. Too little gain for too much $$&trouble. The stock exhaust manifolds flow very well.

I disagree with your header theory. I noticed a hell of a gain when I installed mine. It took me and a bud only like 3 hours start to finish in like 10 degree weather...thats with a couple trips to autozone!
