No vaccum pump is for brake booster. But I see what you are saying. The intake pulls enough vaccum to run the booster. But as silly as this sounds what would you do about the oil that would get into booster.
Yes 8quarts is to help the rms to not blow out. I have the new version of rms as mine blew out at 130mph. I also run 7quarts after a oil change then measure and add. But that is to allow additives to soak in and because there is always oil remaining in the motor. It doesn't hurt anything still plenty of oil in there.
There are 2 groups of thought. One neutral venting or breather. Then vaccum pulling out. Vaccum is best and is proven to help engine and make more power. Also it addresses the oil mist better. This would be your css to can and can out to a vacuum source.

Wait, so you DO use the 7 quarts trick...or do you add seven, check, then add another quart to be sure you don't overfill.

And regarding the rear main seal...all bets are off when you blow a main seal going 130mph, no? I'd say all bets are off regarding most of the truck Remind me not to buy your truck second hand if it goes on Craigslist. Haha. No seriously, yikes, that truck is getting some abuse. I daily mine...a good 80-100 miles each day...I baby it, but then again driving a truck up and down a highway 100 miles a day isn't exactly an easy life/garage queen situation either. Not when you consider half the year it's covered in salt and brime...or getting little pebbles thrown at the windshield and pelting the hood. And you should see some of the crap you see when you drive that much...I hit a turkey once on the highway doing 70. On the damn highway! Thing ran right across the highway and tried to jump right over my car (pre truck). Didn't make it, neither did my mirror.

I do the 7 of oil then add my additives. Then drive and let it heat cycle then add last quart. NOT the 8.5quarts that was originally calling for. I believe the reason my seal went out was because of crank case pressure and the seal design. I have different seal now and less oil and huge breather tank.
I now have 11k on the truck. And still a new crate motor sitting and it has a $6500 billet stage 3 trans. I am sure by the end the truck will be bullet proof.
I mostly use the power on expressway. Dont even need mirrors to merge. Pick spot way ahead and floor it. On the 6 speed the low gears come to quickly 3rd and up is more fun.
