Leave plugged in?

Recommended Posts

2019 Yukon Denali.  iPad permanently in the car, plugged into one of the two USB ports in the center box (between the two front seats).  I noticed it keeps charging even when I leave the car and lock the doors.  Does is stop charging after a few minutes? If not, and I do leave it plugged in, would it drain the battery?  In other words, do I have to unplug it every time I leave the vehicle and then re-plug it when I'm back?  Is there a USB port that disengages when vehicle is turned off and re-engages when turned back on?  Thank you

I charge my phone without starting the truck.

Compare the size of the batteries.

Your vehicle battery is huge compared to the ipad battery.

Over time all vehicle batteries will die from the drain put on them by the elctronics.

You will be fine IMO.
