Firmer brakes

I'm sure this has been asked but I could not find a firm answer.

I have a 1994 GMC Sierra K1500 4WD and the brakes are in good shape, but they are slow to work and the pedal is kinda spongy or like the other guy said lazy!

This is just like the other trucks and Suburbans in this year range that I have owned, but I would like them to work better.

I had a suburban that I replaced every brake part except the brake lines and got no benefit.

I'm sure there is a simple way to make them work faster and better like bigger brakes or something.

I am hoping for a bolt on solution if there is one, like using calipers and rotors from another truck.

I did change the brakes from drum to disc on my Datsun by getting a bracket that someone made and adding 300ZX brakes to it as well as a bigger master cylinder.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give on this one.
