2016 Silverado Radio Swap

Hi all,

 

So my work truck is a 2016 Silverado with no CarPlay/nav. My company had a wrecked Silverado that had CarPlay/Nav. I took the radio components from the wrecked on and tried too install into mine but it gave me a “Theft Detected” notification on the screen and had me locked out. I swapped back to the original parts and it’s working fine now.

 

My question is, am I able to get the new components to be comparable with my truck? Ive had someone tell me that a dealer can reset the theft code, can anyone confirm? Just trying to see my options here as I’d love to have CarPlay and everything else.

The dealer should be able to program that radio to your VIN.  They'll usually charge an hours labor rate to do it (around $120).
