Well took off friday.  Went hiking then drove home and went fishing.  Got down there and the grass was up to the wheel well of my dads S-10 (pics soon).  Cut most of the grass (was out there till 10pm friday night).  Threw back a couple cold ones woke up the next morning and finished cutting grass.  Then the rain came.  Stuck inside all day.  No fishing   The channel where we take our boat out to the lake actually started to overflow

It rained and raind and rained.  Well this morning at 5am I got a voice mail from my mom.  Our house was starting to take on water (seeping in the basement).  Told my dad and we packed up and left about 7:30am.   Well my truck was parked in the backyard.  It had sunk slightly into the grass.  Had to use 4wd to get out.  Then came the exciting part.  My dad had to climb a slight hill out.  Bald tires and a 2wd S-10.  Wasnt happening.  I told him to back it out (weight in the rear).  Well he sat there digging a hole.  Mudd eveywhere.  I said stop backed my truck up hooked in the warn shackle and hooked the tow strap up to his rear bumper (Only thing to hook it to it was to muddy to climb under and wrap around the axle.) I had my gf watch to hollar if the bumper was gonna fly off.  Well i gave it a tug hit the gas and got it right out.  Man i love the power of the 5.3 i could barely feel him behind me.  I didnt get any pics cause it was pouring and i didnt wanna dig out my camera.

Should be a fun day.  The lake by my house here is starting to overflow which isnt good.

Well i ont be around much today gotta go vaccum up water

Hope all goes well with the house Ryan.

Tip: NEVER hook a strap/chain right to the axle.  Always hook it to something more solid, like the frame.  I seen with my own eyes a guy do that and ripped one side of the axle right out from under the truck.  ???   That would suck!

Tom I didnt mean the axle (i know thats what i said).  He threw it around the leaf spring at first but i probably would have ripped that off (they are rusty).  I just used that since thats under the truck and couldnt think of anything else

Also my MPG went up with the tonnaeu cover on.  I got about 150miles out of a quarter of a tank of gas

Good to hear you gained some MPG with the cover.  :)

Nice pics Ryan.  Feel free to send all of the rain out here.  It has now been over ten months since we have had a measurable precip over .02 of an inch, basically no rain in ten months.  Lake Mead has dropped over 40 feet in the past couple of months and is expected to drop another 20+ by summer.   ??? You can see the old high-water marks on the sides of the lake.  Parts of the old Indian city that was flooded by the creation of the lake are starting to show up again.  It sucks.

Did I ever mention I hate the desert?

I left for the evening couldnt handle all the water.  Its slowing but we have to vacuum every 15-20 min or the outside by our basement door gets soaked and then it starts coming in the house.  My mom is taking off work tomorrow to hold down the fort since me and my dad both work.

Those pics werent even the half of them.  I have a ton of trail (not driving but walking) pictures.

Man i wish i got a pic of me pulling my dad out of the mud/grass.

At least the rain has stopped!!!

Coming home Saturday night, I was driving through Elk Grove Village by O'Hare and it was coming down so hard that I actually had to crawl at like 10mph Touhy Ave.
