rear seat sub install problem

Hi everybody,

 

I have a problem with my sub install that is probably not to common but I am hoping you guys can help. I bought a sub enclosure for two 10's that goes all the way across the rear of the extended cab on my silverado, under the back seat. Most boxes are downfiring but the box I got was upfiring. The problem is the lever on the passenger side bench bottom that you pull to maneuver the seat back is in the way of the woofer. I have removed the lever (it was bolted to the bench frame) for the time being, but was wondering if there was anywhere else that I could install the lever instead of just hanging down to the side of the bench. It uses what appears to be like a standard brake cable (like on a bicycle) and was thinking maybe I could lenghen it and install the lever on the side of the cab or something. Any suggestions or experience with this problem? THanks for any help you can give.
