GM Badging

Does anyone know who supplies the various badging for General Motors? In particular, who is the supplier of the small raised 3-dimensional type LS, LT, SLE, SLT, and Z71 badges found behind the rear door on all of our trucks and SUV's. I am wanting to put some custom badges on my trucks but I want them to be a raised plastic instead of a flat decal.

Thanks,

B.J.

Good luck with that one. Even if you do find out the supplier, the cost to have something made by them would be very high :jester:

I have seen replacement billet emblems at places like stylinconcepts.com and others that advertise in truck mags

some of that stuff is made right in a GM plant somewhere and not sold to the public. sometimes made in the factory and ALSO farmed out to other suppliers/venders, at the same time!

ok. next question. is there any type of clear pliable rubber/plastic material out there that starts off as a liquid and sets up that I could make my own emblems with? I could make a mold, fill the mold with the clear liquid plastic, then set the decal I want to use on top of it and hope the plastic adheres to the face of the decal. Any such stuff out there that anyone has seen?

Closest I know of is the custom computer case badges. They use an adhesive backed clear plastic then an adhesive backed "decal" that you print on your computer. Find the manufacturer of those and see if they will do it in a larger size for you.

I peeled off the black with outline gold lettered "LT" badges and bought some "LT" badges that go on the 2002+ Trailblazer. They only list for like $7 each. They look alot nicer to me. I have yet to see another Silverado with them.

What looks nice to me is no badges at all......

"Badges.... We don't need no stinking badges"

All my Z-71 stickers are comming off this weekend. And then nex weekend I'm working on the Sierra ones and the GMC ones on the tailgate...

Then I will be badge free, IMHO I think the truck just has a cleaner look that way...

I'm with Cowboy 02. The entire truck just looks a lot slicker without any badges. Especially the tailgate.

The only liquid I can think of is liquid latex.....or maybe some sort of an epoxy or resin, which I think is what a lot of them have in them.......Good luck....sounds like a lot of work to me :)
