I have the Borla ATAK in a custom setup.  I removed both flappers ( 6.2 Engine ).  3" pipe is what you want if going to cut in a muffler or go with custom setup like I have.  Its loud, no other way to put it.  It has a nice deep rumble at start up, even better when cold, and when you get on the gas it brings a big grin to my face.

It does drone to a degree, all Borla setups will unless you keep the flappers in or get the catback system as they suggested.  I did not go that route because to me they barely make any sound anymore with flappers in, cats, etc., so to me I did not see the point in spending all that money to barely hear a change to the exhaust.

I personally would not get the CB setup from Borla or the GM perf one either, but are rip-offs and you can accomplish the same on your own.  What you need to decide is how loud you want it and if some drone is livable to you or not.
