Brake/Running lights stuck ON

Greetings all,

I have a 17 Silverado Z71 and my right side brake light is stuck on, and the running lights on the left side are stuck on. I have changed all 4 bulbs in the back thinking it could have been a short there. But we still have the lights on. I starting pulling fuses to try to find out where they were getting power from, and none of the ones I pulled out, including the trailer light fuse cut power to them. So I pulled the negative battery cable so it doesn't drain the battery, I'm looking for come kind of direction to start looking it, any ideas?

Check the brake light switch. For the DRL, may be the sensor on your dash went bad.

I pulled the brake light switch plug and still had the lights on. I checked the trailer harness and didn't have any luck either.

I would suggest getting access to the wiring and connector diagrams in the full service manual, and go back through the connectors and seeing where the problem happens.  A service like alldatadiy.com or similar web sites will have it.

Did you find anything? I have a similar problem just brake lights i have found that pulling back on brake pedal or light tap on the brake shuts off the lights. The problem is mi e just turn on suddenly on their own. I was leaning on bpp sensor calibration.

That one sounds like the brake pedal switch is going bad. I had to tap out, i sent it to the dealer for them to look at it. They found that fuse/relay block under the hood had an internal failure that caused the lights to stay on.

Well in my case it isnt the switch, nor the brake pedal position sensor calibration. Im going to have to give in and leave it for the dealership to figure out.

Let me know what happens. I’m in the same boat. Running lights and brake lights stuck on and occasionally the reverse lights. I’ve taken out the 20amp parking lamp fuse and that turned everything off and is functioning normally besides the reverse lights every now and then. This morning I believe my reverse lights turn off when it was light enough out so I may think it could be the ambient light sensor.
