dash light dimmer

Does anybody have a wiring digram for the dash light dimmer switch. I am trying to hook up some gauges and I want to splice the lights into the dimmer so I can dim them. I took the dimmer switch out and there are like 10 d**n wires coming out of the thing, and I don't have a diagram.

Anyway any help would be great. BTW it's a 2002 2500HD crewcab LS I think I forget, whatever the middle option was, I think it was LS?

thanks

You could actually pull the dimmer signal from the MBEC (the electical center under the dash by the e-brake) thats where I pulled it from to avoide cutting up the factory wireing. If you wanted, I could look tonight after work and let you know the exact pin position and connector on the MBEC. The truck is at the house today other wise I would have the info now.

Check for a brown/white wire on the back of that light controller module harness you were looking at. That's what it was on my '03 but they may have changed from '02. To verify, turn the headlights on and measure the voltage on that wire (brn/wht) and dim the lights, voltage should change if it is the correct wire.

Otherwise, tap into the ILLUM fuse.
