Factory Remote Start

Has anyone installed the GM remote start on their truck that already had the hood latch sensor installed from the factory? If so, do you have to remove the wire from the BCM, like it’s stated in the directions from GM, or is it just take the new fobs and code sent in the package and have it programmed?

I had mine installed by the dealer but I’m pretty certain all they need is the code and the key fobs for programming.

Mine has the AQQ RPO code and after looking through the GM upfitter manual, my wire colors and pin locations match, so I’m just gonna roll with that.
