K2 22's will they fit a T1?

Hello folks,

 

I have a 2020 Silverado RST 4X4 on order and was wondering if anyone has tried the old K2 22" rims on the new body style? These are the 22" rims that came on the 2014-2018 trucks.

They will fit with a small spacer most likely, otherwise the spokes will it the new calipers.

 Good to know, I would have no problem with a small (1/8-3/16) spacer. I don't believe any stock stud would support anything thicker than that.

 

My new truck wont arrive for at lease another month, so I will do some test fitting then.

Just go to the hardware store and buy a bunch of washers, when you find the ideal thickness measure with a caliper and order some.  That's what I did with my Hostile wheels.

Some '14-'18 wheels would need a 1/2" spacer to clear the caliper. Way too thick.  Only a few of the wheels clear with a 3mm (1/8") spacer. 3mm is about the thickest spacer you can run to stay hub centric. The hub is around 8mm thick and with the taper of the hub and the taper of the wheel bore, using a 6mm (1/4") now makes your wheel lug centric instead of hub centric and GM wheels DON'T like being lug centric. There's only one place I had found that makes a 3mm spacer. If your wheel clears with a 3mm spacer and you decide to use a washer to space,  be sure it's grade 8.

I agree on staying hub centric, if the 1/8" spacer wont work I will sell these and order some with the correct backspacing. I have a few buddy's that have dibs on the black 22"s.

It's not just the offset but the angle of the spokes. What wheel do you have? Post a pic.

These are the 22" rims that I am talking about. They are off a 2016 midnight edition.

Bad news is that wheel definitely won't work.  I tried it in 22" chrome.  With  5/8" space between the hub and wheel it still hit the caliper.

Yep i tried same k2 wheels on my T1 then got 5mm spacers and still hit caliper. Like mentioned above any more loose the hubsentric ability. Ended up selling and getting a second set oem black chrome for summer setup. Lost $ all the way around from dealer trade as they wanted to cpo my trade but couldnt without orginal wheels to taking a loss on sale of them.

Thanks guys for all the responses. I will have no problem selling these with the new michelin's that only have 20K on them.

 

Probably look for a set of Trail boss 18" black rims or possibly a set of aftermarket rims.

You're welcome.  Check wheelpros.com.  They are a distributor for OE Creations.  I've found these to be the best aftermarket wheels and fit and finish are flawless. Require little weight to balance.  Enter year make and model then OE Creations under brand. They have new '19 GM style wheels in all sizes and finishes.  I went with the PR196 22" which is also available in black. A friend of mine went with the PR197 22" chrome (shown on tailgate). Both are '19 GM style.

Buddy of mine has some barely used black RST rims for around $900.
