Silverado ac problem

So I’ve just recently fixed the ac in my 2003 Silverado, needed a tensioner, belt and recharge, after everything was done I pushed the ac button and it still blew hot air, then I noticed when I shut the ac off the compressed turns on, and when the ac is “on” the compressor is off, so the ac works but it’s opposite, ac on is really heat on and when the ac is “off” it’s on, anyone know why? By the way it’s all button controls with the display screen for the climate settings

What do you mean it needed a ‘recharge’ that’s not a thing. It had zero pressure in the system?

Yes it had almost zero pressure in the system, my buddy has the machine that pulls a vacuum on the system and pumps new refrigerant in the system, hense why I said “recharge”

Did you fix the leak? May be related to your issue.

Auto or manual HVAC? If auto, then temp sensor may be bad.
