2005 Chevy Silverado 1500HD Audio

I have a 2005 chevy silverado with the bose setup speakers, my tweeters are blown. i went to an audion shop and they said that "i have to replace all speakers and amp because no other speakers can work with the bose setup." Is This true?

 

Also, i have the 1.5 din size radio any suggestions on if i should go single or double? need the easiest and most cost effective route thanks (sorry for two)

Are you sure you have a 1.5 DIN radio (ie, only 3" tall)?  My '04 Sierra had a double-din, same with my '06 Sierra 2500 parts truck.

 

Anyway, if you have a 1.5 DIN radio, then you want the replacement to be either 1.5DIN or 1 DIN otherwise you have to put the radio somewhere else (which is generally a bigger hassle than installed in the spot the original radio was in).

 

Don't know anything about the Bose setup/speakers or replacing it.

@davester i brought my truck to a shady audion shop and they sold me on it being a 1.5 din and how i needed to do custom work to upgrade my radio. It was all lies, i have a double din. they quit putting 1.5 dins in the silverado  trucks after 03.

Sounds like someone wanted to make some extra revenue from you.  Hope you have better luck with the next shop.
