JVC, Sony, Panasonic, or Samsung. I work in Sears electronics and Sonys are Awesome..but gonna cost some $$ ... I think if I were in the market for one I'd buy a flatscreen JVC.

for large TV's.....35 and up I like sony, but for anything below that I only use samsung.....in college I had a tv, that was a samsung, that was the first big screen(26 inch) my family had.....I finally got rid of it because the picture tube started to go, I mean the bastard only lasted about 17 years.

Another good brand to consider is Toshiba.

I think any more though, most TV's are pretty decent. The majority of the TV's I own (maybe 3-4 of them) are Magnavox. They have all been excellent with good pictures and sound.

I have a 20" Zenith in my bedroom that isn't that great of a TV.

My 50" TV is a Toshiba, and it is "great"!!!

The more $$$ you spend, the nicer the picture and sound quality is. If you like using picture-in-picture, then look for a dual-tuner model so you don't have to run the PIP through your VCR. Also look at the number of I/O jacks that there are... A set of front jacks are nice for plugging in a camcorder, or video game.

I had a Mitsubishi 60" but didn't really care for the picture. We picked up a 55" Phillips Widescreed HD a few weeks ago and sold the Mitsu and all I can say about the Phillips is:WOW!

There is such a thing as a 13 inch TV :seeya: Wow.

I have 6 TV's in my house, all across the size/quality/brand spectrum.

You get what you pay for, more money = more options and higher quality.

Higher quality = heavier :flag:

I have a 32 incher in the bedroom, and it's really big enough for any type viewing, unless you are a huge movie buff, or sports nut.

But with you getting ready to build a new house, you should wait until you have that taken care of before dropping a couple of grand on a TV that may or may not fit into the new floorplan.

My vote is for a 32".

But thats just me and my .02 :smash:

We have had good luck with our 50" Hitachi, or you could get a TV I saw at Sound Advice a few years ago. It was a 90" Mitsubishi.
