Chalk up another one. Sounds like a problem across the board, not limited to certain trim levels.

2020 Custom CC 6.6 gas with the cheap head unit. Been using FM and Android Auto for GPS all day. Just made a quick run to the store and no audio. Noticed there was also no clicking noise for the turn signal. Got home and made sure no blue tooth or wifi was connected. Off and on nothing. Off, restart with remote, then insert key, nothing. Turn off and on, reconnect android auto. No sound from music through android, but gps from phones comes back up nice. Did have a notice earlier today that complimentary Syrious had expired. Never use it anyway. Did switch to a  Syrious sample channel and nothing. Guess I'll let it sit tonight and see if it corrects in the morning before I pull a negative.

Have a 2019 custom 'Trail Boss' and I have been having issues with the radio since 600 miles. The screen wont come some times, and other times the touchscreen wont work. Its something different almost every week, Ill be driving with the radio on and the screen will go black and stop working all together. The Infotainment has the base 7" screen, when I start the truck and the radio works its Christmas for me. I have had the truck into the dealer 4-5 times with the radio and they keep telling me its a programing issue and GM knows about and are working on a repair, but nothing at this time.

I have a 2020 2500 Custom and when my system shuts down, I wait a few minutes and turn it back on, no one knows how to fix the issue.

I have a 2021 3500 AT4. My audio has cut out twice in the couple months I’ve owned it. No matter what source is selected. Infotainment center still functioned normal both times. I took it to the GMC dealer in Anchorage about three weeks ago because they said there was a recall for it. They did the recall and I’ve had no issues since.

Have a 2021 Sierra 1500 Elevation with premium audio that also has the audio cutout issue.  It's sporadic and will affect all inputs.  Can operate the head unit, change inputs, just no audio what so ever.  Even door chimes stop working. It's been in the shop three times (the last for over 7 days) with no resolution. Does anyone have a TSB number or recall notice for this issue I can show my service department?

Had a rear window leak in my 2021 Elevation 3.0 so they went ahead and replaced the amplifier thinking it may be causing the audio to drop out.  Unfortunately that didn't fix the issue.  Had the truck back in service yesterday for the same issue and GM just approved a new headunit.  It should be ordered Monday but with every part on this truck seemingly on backorder it may take a while to actually get the part and get it installed.  I'll post an update when I can.

Well mine is still acting up….

I’ve determined that even when the audio cuts out to the speakers the phone still transmits my voice to the person I’m talking to..

Since the Head unit has already been replaced I bought an amplifier from someone that put in an aftermarket system.

I’m going to replace the amp and see if that fixes the problem.

I tried 2 different dealerships and they are batting .000

Now my warranty is up for this problem.

Good morning, I have a 2022 Denali with less than 500 miles and I’m experiencing identical symptoms. Taking it into dealer today but I’m not optimistic based on y’all’s experiences. Yesterday was the first time it was driven in heavy rain so that may be related to issue .

Update: Local dealership said There is a GM bulletin and recognize the issue but currently is no fix. GM engineering working on a fix.

Well it wasn’t the amplifier.

I popped off the rear seat and exchanged the original amp with a replacement one from a guy that had put in big amps and speakers.

It worked great for two days and I started patting myself on the back…

Of course it started having sporadic issues again with the sound dropping out.

FM / Sirius / Cell calls, it happens with them all.  The bluetooth stays connected to my phone and the person I’m speaking with can hear me but the audio in the truck cuts in and out.

In AZ it’s against the law to talk without using hands free so it’s a safety and ticket issue as well.

Arghhh…. 2+Years of an infotainment system that only works some of the time.

Went on a 4,000 mile trip.

Audio sometimes worked for an hour without glitches.  Sometimes there were glitches a few times per minute.

A few times the audio wouldn't work for 20-30 minutes at a time.

Streaming Phone music, FM, Sirus / XM, telephone conversations, it didn't matter which source I chose.

Frustrating for sure...

I’m hoping the issue is finally fixed!!!

I took my truck in for the DEF temperature recall software update.

I told the service manager as long as the truck was in please take another look at the infotainment issue as I replaced the amplifier and was still cutting in and out.

He called me and said there was another software update that was supposed to solve the issue.

An hour later he called and said the update did not fix the issue so the tech was going to check the wiring harness.

He called back and said the tech could make the audio cut in and out by moving the wiring harness behind the glove box.

After removing the glove box and unplugging the harness he found one of the pins was bent and the harness wasn’t inserted fully.

Now the audio does not cut out while moving the harness or while driving down the road.

It took 2 years (especially frustrating as I had told them from the very beginning the symptoms were like a loose output connector!) but it is finally fixed.

Hope this helps someone else.

    • Breaking News!    I'm going to tell you that I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I told  you.  Then I'm going to tell you what I'm about to tell you on the other side of the break.  Then we're going to break. Then I'm not going to tell you what I told you I was going to tell you.  But I'll tell you something else that is Breaking News just coming to the desk that everyone reported on yesterday.  Then I'll tease a human interest telling I'll get to on the other side of a larger break. Then I'll tell you one item in 20 seconds and go back to an even longer break. Longest break of the night.  Then I'll tell you a fluff piece that takes 10 seconds and sign off into a three minute break while you wait for the next 30 minutes of rinse and repeat on the local news.    In al you'll get about 12 minutes of something, 5 minutes of which is worth hearing in a 30 minute show and 18 minutes of advertising at a sound level twice as loud as the news.    Of course you can switch to cable news and hear 12 different people tell the same four stories in much the same format as the Network News for 20 hours of which the majority will be advertising.  And four hours of late night Specials about things you wonder why you stayed up to listen to. Half of which will be repeats.....   OR you can go for a drive
    • Did you ever figure this out? My 2022 Trail Boss, and now my 2026 LT did this from time to time.  I believe it was more connected to Android Auto and my phone being the cause. Maybe try going for a drive, sans cell phone.... and see if it happens?
    • I have a 2026 Silverado LT, the non bose as well.  Upgrading the door speakers is pretty straightforward. You could honestly go to walmart, or Auto Zone/ O Reilly and get a set of 6x9s for the front, and 6.5s for the rear. You do also have to get some adapters for each, but they are like $10 a pair on Amazon. Then some plug and play harnesses that are about $10 a pair on Amazon as well.  And I would also suggest a 10 pack of the Amazon Basics sound deadening. Slap that all around the speakers and on the open metal of the inside of the door. And your golden.   I am currently doing this with my Silverado. Although I am having a bit of trouble because I am snooby I guess and bought some Alpine S2 S69c's which are 2 way components and I am having to wire from the door up to the dash....  Having never installed speakers before, its taking me just a bit to get everything correct. But if you dont buy expensive component speakers, and just some $40-$50 door speakers. You will DRASTICALLY improve the sound over these stock paper cone junk speakers. I thought my Silverado had an issue with the radio/ sound for a while.  Come to find out.  The stock speakers are just THAT SH*TTY   I cannot wait to have some decent sound in the truck   What did you end up doing?
    • Its all automatic based on yaw sensor data.  If enough incline is detected, it engages.   My recommendation though would be to disengage it before driving off and not let it auto disengage by touching the gas pedal.  The HD trucks use the same setup as prior years, the drum in hat park brake.  But now with an electric actuator.  If you drive off repeatedly over time, it can torque the park brake shoes and can also prematurely wear them out.           Electric console shift will set the park brake on flat ground too.  Pretty sure they've got it programmed to activate every time.
