Slow 5mbps onstar wifi

Since covid lockdowns  started  onstar gave everyone free lte wifi.  But i notice  max speed i can get is 5 mbps . I recall when i had free trial when i bought it it was much faster. I don't  think its a poor lte signal as both lte and wifi are full bars. Is it because  maybe onstar is giving it away its slower because of congestion or maybe they are giving a way less bandwidth  to keep it stable? Or could their be something wrong with my in car wifi hardware?

Mine was slow before this whole thing started. It’s prepaid data so it’s de prioritized behind post pay subscribers. Sometime I’ll get fast speeds but it’s rare. The kids don’t have issues streaming though. It’s just the way it is
