Anybody know if it would be possible to add a power lock to the tailgate to work with the door locks and key fob? What all would it entail, an actuator and bcm programming I would assume?

Thanks

Pop a lock. Taps into door wiring
No programming needed.

So did you order the solenoid and wire it up to work? I have a 2014 and would prefer the stock later model unit without having to buy an entire tailgate from a 2016+. Wouldn’t mind the pop-a-lock, but have heard that they can be finicky.

I did not. I opened my tailgate up and it does not have the mounting provisions for the stock actuator so I just ordered the pop and lock. Actually just hooked it all up tonight. Seems to work pretty well. Of the dozen or so times I tried it I had a few that it didn't actually lock but I would say 8 out of 10 it did. Just seems like it needs a hair more travel to get it every time.

I also installed the Pop & Lock in my truck. The install took about 20-30 minutes from start to finish and works flawlessly.

I have a 2016 Silverado work truck with the 8 pin next to the spare tire. Does using all factory connections and wiring still require programming? The truck didn't come with a backup camera either from factory.
