GM Accessories up to 20% Off

So after seeing both GMC and Chevy doing up to 20% off MSRP for the accessories website I'm considering doing the air intake and cat back exhaust change out. Does anyone feel that there is such a major difference between the Borla S-Type (GM Approved) and the Borla ATAK (non GM Approved) that I should risk voiding the warranty and going with the ATAK? I think either way I'll stick with the GM approved air intake, they look nice and really are cost effective for the most part.

It doesn't "void" a warranty. Exhaust is pretty safe, pretty much the worst that can happen is it rusts out. But it's a borla so that shouldn't be a concern.

Is the ATAK legal for a sound standpoint? I hear ATAKs can be quite loud.

The type s is much less likely to drone.

With all dfm and AFM trucks an aftermarket exhaust is going to make it sound a bit weird while cruising when it changes down to 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 cylinder mode. And particularly weird when it starts skip firing. ( Alternating clyinders per stroke)

Listened to the factory exhaust on here and it sounds good to me.

I saw the 20% off, so I went on line to GM and ordered the CAI, the exhaust and dealer installation -total with tax was $2,200.00.

Just waiting for my appointment with the dealer.

Where did you see that the Borla S-Type was GM approved?  I have one on my truck and hadn't really worried about it but would like to have the reference if it's out there.  Thanks.

If you didn't buy it from GM it's a different SKU.

Not that it matters if the accessory is branded that warranty is independent from GM. There are some exceptions mainly Baja designs lights where GM will assist with warranty resolutions.

As long as it is installed by a GM dealer. Go to the accessories website and it's on there.

That "warranty" is just for the install.

Unless you are talking about the "GM performance cat-back exhaust BY BORLA" if so that's a GM accessory thats covered for 3yrs 36k miles GM warranty.

IDK ultimately it's an exhaust. A pipe for waste gases to flow through. Nothing can really go wrong.

The ones by Borla through GM are warrantied by Borla, not GM.

When is your appointment? That's exactly what I am wanting to do but just not sure yet.

Actually waiting for the parts to get in -just called and they didn't get them yet, but said that they will be getting an order in on Monday. Said it is hard for them to check status when the parts are ordered direct?

I'll post something when I get them.
