Subwoofer Addition to Stock System in 2020 Silverado RST

Hi,

 

I have a 2020 Silverado RST Crew Cab with stock radio....I'm astonished at how terrible this system is.....I often cannot turn it up halfway without distortion already happening.

 

Will a subwoofer addition help this....I'm currently looking at two option from subthump.com....1 is a 10" custom box with integrated subwoofer and the other is dual 10's with amp space custom box.

I've done installs before...but would like some advice on pairing subwoofer with the first box and the integrated sub...and then options/recommendations for the dual 10's....where I'd need to buy an amp.

You got half way? At 25% I started to get a headache. Above that was loud to be loud. Like a mega phone.

 

Bose system over 30% is the same way just straight up trash.

I’m doing a single 12” in an underseatbox. I have done plenty of installs myself, but opted to order a harness from LLJ Customs so I can tap in my LOC

I went with JL Audio Stealthbox, fits perfectly under my seat with 2 down firing 12" subs....Huge improvement on my 2019 LTZ.

which amp did you pair with that?........what would I need besides an amp, wiring kit and the stealthbox?

I used the JL 1000w amp.  Not sure of the model, I'm not at home.  It's pricey and it hits extremely hard too.

So I spoke with the guys at SubThump last week and they are working on a single sub box with amp shelf and open storage on the opposite side. Current offerings eliminate storage all together so this will be a much improved solution for the T1s. I should have an indication of what it will cost ofter the holiday weekend and will be sure to let you guys know. Their pricing is very "affordable " so stay tuned.
