Hello all,

I have a 2019 Silverado LTZ 4WD and I really hate how the front end floats like an old Buick driving down the road. Any un smooth surface or wavy surface at highway speeds it floats to the point where you can feel it bottom out. I took it back to the dealer and they said there was nothing wrong with it. I did notice some markings on the coil spring but I was told those marks were from the factory where different people checked off on it. I have dealt with different springs on other cars and the markings usually give a spring rating..... To me it feels like the springs were meant for the 4 cylinder version and not the 6.2 liter version. Any ideas is I can find out info on the springs? or what to do? Thank you in advance.

The front ends are soft on the 4x4's and Z71 setups for a reason, because they are setup to do occasional off-roading.  The difference in compression and rebound characteristics of an off road shock is substantially difference than an on road shock.  It's just the nature of the beast and takes some getting used to.  Coming from a SuperDuty truck, it REALLY bothered me at first and I bought a completely new suspension for it but I am used to it now and actually enjoy the softer plusher ride.  However, the dip and roll experienced in long whoopy sections of the highway can be disturbing so I'll eventually take the aftermarket suspension off my work bench and install it at some point.  Unlike others, I never really had an issue with the Rancho shocks as far as the quality of ride is concerned and I thought they did very good during slow off roading with considerable ruts and obstructions.  However, at 12k miles I think they are starting to wear out.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, but know that the 4x4 and Off-Road packages come pretty soft from the factory for a reason.  There is a compromise created when a truck is designed for off-road capabilities as well as on road comfort.
