Went and seen the movie sum of all fears this afternoon.  Pretty good movie (a few things are very unrealistic).  Pretty shocking movie shows how a few people can really F up this world.  Best part of the movie was how the romance between ben (dr ryan) and the chick (?) was short and to the point.  After 3 dates they were sleeping together and after about a wk or two they were engaged (all they needed was kids).

I think everyone living on planet earth should see this movie.  Might make some people make better decisions and i hope nothing like this ever happens

8.5

I saw it too, and I must agree, overall is was a great movie. As for the relationship part, they coulda left a few parts out as they pertained to nothing in the movie. I guess "Pearl Harbor syndrome" has taken hold on "War" movies.  As for the rating, the first 10 minutes have a slight case of "suggestive themes". Profanity on a scale of 10, 10 being worst, is about a 5. Story line is great, with enough to keep you interested. Except for the relationship, which may have added a "realness" to the movie, some will argue, but seemed to show a case of bad morals. Still, overall, great movie. I give it a rating of 8.5, as it shows what could happen tomorrow.  It reminds you that the threat is real. Over 60% of the American population could be gone by the end of tommorow.

Haven't seen the movie yet, but read the book - it was great.  Seems the movie and book differ in details, from what I've heard - but that's not necessarily bad.  Critics didn't like Ben Afleck's Jack Ryan - thought it was weak, but come on, who wouldn't after Harrison Ford??  Actually, I liked Alec Baldwin's Ryan.  Harrison Ford is just too "bigger than life" for some roles.  Morgan Freeman is the best.

Here's my take.

Political correctness SUC%S !!

The book is about - whatddyaknow - ARAB Terrorists !

The movie was changed to neo-nazi's because they thought they would offend the Arabs and or scare too many people.

I think it would have been great if they kept true to the book.  Maybe those that have decided to play Monday morning quarterback about 9-11 (Dachle's democtatic dipsticks) would realize that the threat is far from over and get back to the point at hand.

I loved the book, have almost all of Clancey's books.  Going to see the movie as soon as my gf finishes the book!
