I have a question concerning the power steering on my 03 Tahoe. It is very light with little feedback. It really doesn't instill a lot of confidence in you when driving at highway speeds. My 99 Sierra had a much tighter feel than the Tahoe and other GM trucks I have had in the past were even better. I know the Tahoe is supposed to have speed sensitive steering, but as far I can tell my doesn't. The last time I drove a vehicle this loose was when I had a Ford Granada company car back in the 70's. Like that very forgettable vehicle the Tahoe feels like it needs some steering components and front end pieces tightened down some. It is all right around town, but on the interstates and highway it is a real nuisance and somewhat disconcerting. Is there anyway to tighten the steering up a little? I know that you can improve brake pedal feel by switching to SS brake lines, which I may do because the brake pedal feel on the Tahoe is also very spongy and touchy with long pedal travel.

The difference is because the 99 had recirculating ball steering, read "trucklike". The 03 has rack and pinion sterring, read "carlike". I have driven both a 99 Silverado and an 02 Suburban, the racked Suburban has incredibly light steering that did take some getting used too but when I got used to it, it was great If I had to choose I would probably go with the rack and pinion setup. The older cars you refernece had even older technology so they required even more steering effort...Bryce
