Fluctuating Rpm’s

I have a 2014 Silverado 1500 5.3. When I stop at a light/stop sign, the rpm’s will drop a couple 100 then come back up. It never goes up and comes back down though, just drops then back up. Any ideas?

Not quite that far. Maybe 200-300rpm.

Are you sure it's not just downshifting back into 1st gear once the speed is low enough for back at 0mph?

 

It's hard to give an answer without every driving the truck or seeing what you are talking about.

My 2014 Z71 LT 1500 does the same thing. When I'm stopped completely and its idling I've noticed the rpms fluctuate like you said.
