So by running a tune from this title to delete AFM and a mild preselect from device can anyone give me there thoughts on its long term effects ?I've read alot of good things about deleting AFM and mild tune...( My truck has borla dual exhaust system already from cat back)

55k miles so gm warranty is up in 5k, but I've thought about buying a extended warranty through dealership for bumper.to bumper coverage, but I believe if I flash the ECM with above tune it will void said extended warranty correct?

So an update...

Ive read superchips website which says it's illegal to claim warranty was voided due to a tuning b/c there's an act in place to protect against this happening.

I have lifted 2018 5.3. Borla S type catback. I'm running the Superchips Flashpaq F5 tuner. It does what it says it will do. Don't expect huge gains. At best with the Borla I'm thinking about 15-18 hp gain. Above 3000 rpm is where you will notice it It really fixed the shift points since everything was screwed up from going to 37" tires.

Magnuson/Moss is what they are talking about. This means that GM has to prove the tuner caused damage.

I'm not too worried about it.

You have to pay $40 to unlock your ECM and download the programming.

Once that's done you can tune away making as many changes as you want. Not sure if you can do it on your phone I doubt it. I used a laptop.

I'm not looking to get huge horsepower gains I'm just hoping that it will turn off the AFM and stop the transmission from make him wanting to shift back and forth every 3 seconds while I'm cruising at 55 miles per hour (which is most of my driving to and from work so it gets really annoying)

I'm not sure which tune I will do whether it be the towing 1 because I do tow a boat a couple times a year or the mileage also because it seems like you have to run 91 octane for a couple of these... But I will see how things go.

Thanks Matt ?

The Flashpaq will disable AFM. It also has a tow mode.

You only need to run higher octane when you run the performance tune. I'm running 91. Or 92 where it's available

The gear hunting is because your at 55 with the AFM kicking on and off. What gear ratio do you have?

Open the glove box and look at the RPO codes.

I believe 2016 still has the sticker in one of the two glove boxes.

GT4 is 3.73

GU6 is 3.42

GU5 is 3.23

3.42(gu6)why you ask?

Lower gear ratio 3.23,3.08 make it worse

So your saying the lower the number( worse the shifting with AFM enabled?)

So my 3.42 is good for towing if I disable AFM and do a tow tune?( I'm tempted to do a mpg tune first with AFM disabled b/c I only tow a few times a year and I could switch to the tow tune when needed...)

Is a tow tune really going to help if it's only 3500 lbs total weight and I have a tow button on gear shifter anyways?

I'm excited to get my unit from superchips today but my check engine light came on with a po711 code( temperature sensor in transmission bad) auto parts place ran check but dealership wants to verify this is correct...which I understand but wait for it...........

I got new tires the other day and after they were done the check engine light was off( I asked if they turned it off and they said no)

I'm going to stop at same auto parts store before I take it to dealership today to see if it still shows up even though no light on...

I kept the print out to show the dealership and will do the same today if it shows same code

Chevy dealer diagnosed it as a faulty wiring harness inside tranny

Gm will only.pay to drop pan and replace that amount oil...

I'm having dealer empty torque converter oil while there in there, new filter, flush, then all new oil.

290$ cost to me but I think with everyone else post on this topic it's worth having them do it since pan be dropped anyway. I bought up the Mobil one but he recommended using the upgraded senthetic oil gm has claimed fixes any torque converter issues down the road if it call for it...(which he said it depends on when it was manufactured if it requires the senthetic oil or just regular and if my truck falls in that range of manufacturing the torque converter may need replacing.

I told him I'm just about to.jump ship to a toy or Nissan truck if any more issues!!!

Any other suggestions fellas?
