I have a GMC 2500HD 4x4 Reg. cab longbed, everyone who gets in the truck on the pass. side has to close the door twice because they never close it hard enough. I was wondering if anybody else has this problem?

Also when I reverse the truck it makes an wierd clanking noise and its starting to really p*** me off.

This is my first new truck ans I don't think I should have problems like this

There are pressure relief "valves" (so to speak) on the rear of the cab between the cab and the bed. They are several square inches in size, and they should relieve the cabin pressure when closing the doors. They may be faulty, or it may be a latch mechanism on the passenger door itself. If they close their door first (while yours is open) does the problem still exist?

As far as the back-up clank goes, that usually tends to be a universal joint. Your dealer should be able to figure it out pretty easily...

My drivers side door did it new. At 10 months it is not an issue any more. As shane said, with a cracked window the door really slames to.

Have the dealer look at the drive line clunck.

When I picked up my truck new(03 2500HD) the drivers side door plastic striker plate was laying on the floor. The service guy orded a new one and when it came in he snapped it into place. Three days later it broke.

Scheduled a trip to the dealer to have it fixed. They alligned the door better and no more problems.

Just be sure to tell 'em when you get it fixed to slam it less, otherwise the cheap plastic studs that hold the tweeter in place can break, leaving it hanging and banging all the way down the road

The clanking noise in reverse you're talking about is most likely the posi unit unlatching, mine does this when it's cold. I also have the hard closing doors, but it's getting better with time.
