Londart2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Wondering if anyone has had this issue. So hooked up my trailer for the first time, no issue. Went to come home 4 days later, and when I hooked up the trailer the truck did not see it connected. I crawled under the truck gave the connection a couple squeezes and when I got back in the truck it was working. The black plate where the 7 pin and and the GM cameras plug in seemed really loose and I didn't see anyway to tighten it. I just don't want to be thinking everything is good driving around and really I don't have any lights. So just wondering if anyone else has come across this same issue? Thanks.
migrabill Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 I have this issue sometimes when I hook up the trailer to an already running truck. I never have the problem if the truck is turned off - then plug in the trailer - then turn on the truck. 1

migrabill Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Yeah - I guess I agree but in their defense the instructions for the Trailer/RV profile part of the infotainment screen says to plug in the trailer to a turned off truck. Upon turning the truck on all the camera angles set.

I was about to pull out to leave and was going to do the light check, and it said no trailer connected. But that is a good point I will make sure I pay attention to, but still how loose the plug is, is unacceptable.
DeadManWalkin Posted August 31, 2020 Posted August 31, 2020 Had this issue when I picked up a new to me 5th wheel. Truck was turned off when trailer was plugged in, truck recognized the trailer and I did the configuration I wanted, drove 1/4 mile and then the truck said no trailer connected. Pulled over and checked and it was still plugged in. Pulled plug and plugged back in and all good?
TripDad Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 GM recommends using the trailer plug end from the same company that makes the truck side connector. There is a thread that discusses this in the Troubleshooting forum, if i remember correctly. 1
2Ranchers Posted August 9, 2023 Posted August 9, 2023 Did anyone figure out how to tighten up the 7/4 pin mount in the bumper. Ours is very loose. Scary loose.
Don DeKock Posted December 1, 2023 Posted December 1, 2023 Having an interment problem with a 2024 Chevy 2500 some of the time when we connect the trailer to the truck the trailer lights will do a very dim strobe. We have also had a message that the electrical trailer brake setting was not recalled and to adjust the trailer brakes. Any one lse having this issue or suggestions of how to fix it?

The blinking is normal, part of the trailer theft system. Its more noticeable with LED lights.
MPGATOR Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 I am as well having the same problem. I bought a 7pin tester but it blinks as well. I plugged it in with the truck started and with it not started no differences.

Trailer anti-theft. 14 hours ago, tex said: https://gm-techlink.com/?p=14165 That document wouldn't apply as it covers 2019-2022 1500 and 2020-2023 HD. LED lighting the trailer theft flash is much more noticeable than incandescent bulbs.
