Check engine light, Code P0449

The check engine light came on, my OBDII scanner shows Generic Code P0449 "Evaporative Emissions System Vent Control Circuit Intermittent", and the RED "Emission Status" indicator light on the scanner is illuminated.  Any thoughts to speed up my troubleshooting would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

The code kinda says what to look at. The vent control valve is under the truck by the fuel tank. It's a pretty common failure for the vent valve to fail or have issues with the electrical side of the part.

 

You could clear the code and see how quickly it comes back.

That's what the GM part number is. You can find them at parts store for a similar price to GM.
