Looking for a source on a replacement third door handle for 98 Silverado.  Original is riveted.  I'm guessing a salvage yard is my best hope at this point.  Any pointers?

Depending on how complicated it is and how handy you are, you might consider fixing/fabbing up the handle yourself.

For my '04 Sierra, I use the rear door on my extended cab all the time, and the "outside" handle would break on my once or twice a year, as it's easy to pull too hard on the plastic handle when the door is frozen shut (or just in general).  After replacing the handle for the 3rd time, I disassembled the broken handle, fabbed a lever out of scrap metal, lots of welding material, lots of grinding and comparing/measuring, reassembled the handle with the new metal lever, and it's been good for 3 years or so now.  And visually, it looks close to original, it's just smooth instead of having lots of small dimples on the lever.
