I tried a search the forum but didn't see a topic on the difference between an AT4 and a Denali. Other than looks, what are the other differences between the models? I see you can load an AT4 up with just about everything you can get on a Denali. I'm not a huge fan of a ton of chrome but that can be solved with wrapping or some painting. Anyone do in depth comparisions that can help me understand? Thanks!

Not much difference between them in the HD world.

In the 1500's the AT4 gets the 2" lift, and the Denali gets the adaptive ride control suspension.

Most of the rest seems to be appearance things -- both inside and outside.

Both have a bunch of options that can be added to them.

Colour choice can make a big difference in how chrome  or painted or blacked out 'fits' the vehicle.

Previous generation, Denali was equipped with a 'Denali only' drivers information centre and gauges display. (gauges were on the information screen, and the computer replaced on of them with a trans temp gauge when tow/haul was enabled; other trims had hardware gauges -  trans temp could be displayed, but not as a gauge)

I'm not actually sure about differences (or not) in the current HD trucks dash set-ups.

I just went through this and wanted the AT4 but the discounts where bigger for a denali so that’s what I ended up with.

To answer you question tho... the only difference is the leather used in the Denali is a better quality and feels better to me. Also the Denali uses the same leather on the back seats. AT4 and below all use “synthetic leather” for the back seats. As far as tech and options you can equip them identically.

at4 also comes standard with the all weather floor mats which is a 200$ add on to the Denali.

Leather is different. I really like my AT4 HD interior with the accents. I couldn’t tell the difference in leather quality between the two. The other difference is the off road aspects: off road mode (more aggressive and advanced hill decent control), skid plate and an Eaton locking rear differential.

All the options on the Denali can be added to the AT4. It’s essentially a color matched Denali with some off road stuff. I took every option accept for the roof lights and sun roof. Never used the sun roof and had them in all my cars / SUVs accept my last two trucks.

Like everyone here has already mentioned, the AT4 is a Denali minus all the shiny bits. I was originally shopping for a Denali because I was uneducated on the AT4. I assumed to get all the cool new tech items, I had to go Denali, then I met a pretty cool sales guys that educated me on the AT4.

As for the interior, I personally couldn't really feel the difference in the interior quality. The leather in my 2020 AT4 feels just like the leather in my Yukon Denali.  And even as much as I love black interior, I really like the kalahari inserts, even thought I hated it in pictures. It looks orange in the pics.

In the end, you can't go wrong with either truck, just depends on your taste.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I am currently in a 2018 F250 Platinum and will either get a 21 F350 Platinum with the Tremor package (off road package for Ford) or a 3500 Denali or AT4. I like the extra off road capabilities added by the AT4 but they aren't essential as I don't do any heavy off roading. I also don't love the chrome of the Denali but I could have portions of the chrome deleted (wrapped, etc) to get the look I want. If I can load an AT4 with all the same tech as a Denali, I guess it comes down to the best deal (Deanli's have a bit more of a markdown that AT4's) and then how much it'll cost to get the Denali looking like I want. Honestly, with all my vehicles I always start with big plans of wrapping/shocks/wheels and end up leaving most of it stock. This one I really intend on making it a bit more cuztomized as I plan on keeping it a bit longer than usual (I typcially trade up every 3yrs or so). I think you guys answered my questions.

Once I find exaclty what I want in a 3500 I have to answer the bigger questions... F350 or 3500? I am not tied to any brand and even drove a Ram the other day but it'll be Ford or GMC. Now that the GMC's cab has more room and the tech is equalling the Ford tech (it wasn't there in 2018), it's really a much harder choice. I really love the push button start, surround cameras, adaptive cruise, etc. on my F250.

Agree. My comment had a typo. I COULDN’T** tell the difference in leather.
